ที่มาของบทความ: แทมมี่ หมายเหตุ: ใครที่ต้องการก๊อปปี้ไปแปะที่อื่น ขอบอกว่า "ยินดี" แต่ช่วยให้เครดิตด้วย นะครับ Adjective คืออะไร Adjective หรือ คำคุณศัพท์ ใช้ขยายคำนามหรือสรรพนาม เพื่อบอกลักษณะของคำนามนั้นๆ เช่น P’ Tammy is a beautiful kratoey. หรือ Electricity is dangerous.
ข้อสังเกต!! ในภาษาไทยคำคุณศัพท์วางหลังคำนาม แต่ภาษาอังกฤษ adj. วางหน้าคำนาม เช่น ผู้ชายหล่อ = a handsome man
ผู้หญิงฉลาด = an intelligent woman
ตำแหน่งหลักๆของ Adjective ได้แก่ 1) วางหน้าคำนามที่มันขยาย เช่น my former school หรือ a hard worker
หรือ I went to a wonderful exhibit of photogenic art at National Museum.
2) วางหลัง Linking Verb หรือ Verb to be (ทำหน้าที่เป็น Subject complement*)
I feel good today. หรือ Nichkhun becomes a popular singer.

“Linking Verb”
หรือเป็น object complement** ตามหลังกริยาเช่น consider, believe, find, make, keep
We believe P’ Tammy so beautiful. หรือ They found the house empty.
แต่ มี Adjective บางตัวที่นำหน้าคำนามไม่ได้ ต้องตามหลังกริยาเท่านั้น ได้แก่ aware, awake, alike, alive, alone, around, ashamed, asleep, well, unable, afraid เช่น My mom and I are alike in many ways.
กฎอื่นๆของ Adjective
1. The + Adjective หมายถึง คน (พหูพจน์) เช่น The beautiful are in this room.
หรือบ่งบอกสัญชาติก็ได้ เช่น The British are fond of sports.
2. คำนามที่เอามาประกอบกันเป็นคำคุณศัพท์ เพื่อบอก age, weight, quantity, measurement
คำๆนั้นเป็นรูปเอกพจน์และมี hyphen (-) คั่นด้วย เช่น a two - hours lesson หรือ a seven - year- old boy
หรือ I’ve paid you a five - hundred - baht note.
ถาม : แล้วจะรู้ได้ไงว่าคำไหนเป็น Adjective ?
ตอบ : รู้สิ เพราะฉันเก่ง ฮ่วย!?! บอกก็ได้ ดูจาก Suffix คำเติมหลังไง
